对比不同时代的普世价值下对同一原著的改编，老版的人物形象更粗野豪迈，连James都会骂母猪bitch哈哈。
剧中的好多情节总能触碰到内心柔软处，还有狗狗们的表现都很入戏。
非常还原20世纪初的英国
看改编剧本会有成见，看过一版再看一版就更容易先入为主，但是这个三十年前的老版却是越看越有味道。新版的演员我本来是非常满意的，老版的看下来除了Tristan太“柔弱”一些外其余均不输于新版，男主从气质到演技甚至更好（不仅仅因为他是有声书朗读者）。而且这一版紧扣原著中农村兽医的日常，不像新版硬塞进很多罗曼史或者政治正确的内容，观感上因而更加轻松愉悦。
老版比新版人物形象更鲜明，崔斯坦更不靠谱，法侬医生脾气更古怪，剧情更细腻，最喜欢老版。
